Cappy Camera exists because we spent years inside the camera business and saw exactly what worked and what didn’t. Before Cappy Camera, our team sold cameras the old way (including disposable film cameras from Kodak and Fuji) and saw how wasteful and expensive that model was. Later, we moved into distributing modern digital cameras across North America and other markets, handling everything from custom campaigns to big retail opportunities. Today, CappyCamera.com is the official home of Cappy Camera.

That experience taught us a few hard lessons. When your supply, your pricing, and your ability to serve customers depend on decisions outside your control, you are always one step from needing greater independence. In 2024, market challenges and evolving dynamics highlighted that need. We had to decide whether to stay in that model or build something of our own.

We chose to build.

Cappy Camera is the result of years of selling and distributing cameras, then deciding to design our own. We drew inspiration from the point-and-shoot camera category, taking elements users enjoyed from past models and refining areas for smoother experiences. Cappy Camera adds:

  • A built-in rechargeable battery

  • A simple way to move between photos and video

Turn the camera on, short-press the shutter to take photos, long-press to start video, then short-press again to stop and go right back to photo mode. No menus, no settings maze, no apps pulling you into your phone. Just a small digital camera that lets you shoot on instinct.

Our team is small and hands-on. We don’t sit in a boardroom deciding what people should want. We look at real use, real feedback, and adjust. Every improvement we have made to Cappy Camera comes from actual users taking it out into their lives and telling us what helped and what got in the way.

If you have read things online about our transition to Cappy Camera, you may have seen discussions from a challenging period of growth and change. That chapter is closed. The related legal matter was dismissed after the parties reached an amicable resolution. We are still here, and the facts that matter today are straightforward:
