the case is very lightweight and portable, so i can easily tuck it into my bikini or slide it into my pocket when i'm out. exporting photos from the SD card was super simple and hassle free. i also love that it has a wider point of view compared to the campsnap.
the flash works really well for nighttime pics and is easy to turn on by holding the power button for a second. it also charges easily with my iphone usb c, which was convenient in case i lose this charger .
i'm obsessed with the filters because they give such a retro, nostalgic vibe to both photos and videos. overall, it would make such a great gift!

Cappy camera is so much easier to navigate and the pictures are dope. It even takes video! I LOVE that I can charge it instead of having to replace batteries all the time. Worth it!

Perfect First Camera for Kids – Simple, Fun, and Surprisingly Great Quality

We bought this 20MP Retro Digital Camera for our two young sons so they could take their own pictures without constantly asking to use our phones or more expensive cameras—and it has been one of the best purchases we've made.
The size is ideal for small hands. It's compact, lightweight, and easy for them to carry around on camping trips, hikes, or just around the backyard. It doesn't feel bulky or heavy, so they actually keep it with them instead of handing it back after five minutes. The retro, screen-free design is honestly one of my favorite parts. It has such a simple, classic look that feels intentional and stylish rather than "toy-like." The clean design makes it feel like a real camera, just scaled perfectly for kids.
Not having a screen has been a huge bonus. It keeps them focused on actually taking pictures instead of getting distracted reviewing every single shot. It's so much fun to plug it in later and see the world through their eyes—especially after camping trips. Some of the pictures are hilarious, some are surprisingly creative, and all of them feel authentic.
Functionality-wise, it's wonderfully simple and straightforward. There's no complicated menu to scroll through, which makes it easy for kids to learn quickly and use independently. Just point and shoot. The buttons are responsive and intuitive, and transferring photos is simple when plugging it into a computer. The screen-free setup actually enhances the experience because it keeps them focused on capturing moments instead of reviewing every photo. It also builds anticipation—it's so fun to plug it in after a camping trip and see what they captured.
The 20MP picture quality is impressive for a kid-friendly camera. The photos come out crisp and clear, with a nice nostalgic feel. It's more than good enough for printing small photos or saving memories digitally. The overall build quality feels solid and durable, which is important with young boys. It has handled being tossed into backpacks and used outdoors without any issues.
The built-in rechargeable battery is extremely convenient. No constantly buying batteries. The battery life easily lasts through a full day of exploring, and recharge time is quick with the included USB-C cable. I love that we can charge it with a power bank or laptop when we're camping.
The eco-friendly protective case is a thoughtful addition. It adds extra protection and makes it easy to transport without worrying about scratches.
Overall, this camera strikes the perfect balance between fun, durability, quality, and value. It gives our boys independence and creativity while keeping our phones safe—and that alone makes it worth every penny.

The camera comes with an SD card. I attach it to my laptop and open the file in literally seconds.
Every part of this camera works great. It should be fully charged for best results. I love that it has four modes: Vintage, Black & White, Low Tone, and Video. It has a great flash as well.
And, let's talk about versatility! I mean, this camera has a removable cover, and extra covers are available that change the entire look of the camera. The cover securely attaches via a magnetic flap at the bottom.
It is a little light on instructions, so I wanted to share a couple of helpful tips:
- On the back of the camera, on the top-right side, is the switch for tone. From the left, the switch is Vintage, B&W, Low Tone, and Deep Blue.
- On the front of the camera, the button is for taking the picture, but hold for two seconds to take a video.
- Power button: hold for 3 second to turn on and to turn off.
- Power button: press for 1 second to turn on flash.
Lots of fun and definitely unique. It would make a great gift for anyone.

The photo quality has that lo-fi, vintage look, which seems to be the point. Not super sharp, but that's expected.
It's small and easy to carry around, which makes it more likely you'll actually use it.
Overall, it's more about the experience than perfect photos, and it does that well. I do think it may be high priced, but you definitely get what you expect.

Everything else out there feels way overcomplicated, but this one just keeps it easy. You turn it on, press the button, and take the picture. No screens, no settings, no distractions.
The photos come out really nice for something this straightforward, and it's fun to just focus on taking pictures instead of messing with options. Charging is easy with USB-C and the battery has been solid for regular use. I also like that it comes with a little case—it's lightweight and easy to throw in a bag.
One thing I'd recommend is grabbing an SD card if you don't already have one, since you'll need it to save photos. Overall, this camera does exactly what it's supposed to do and keeps things simple, which is what makes it great. Definitely a good buy.

The Cappy Camera is a delightful departure from the instant-gratification world of smartphones, offering a unique "screen-free" experience that encourages you to stay present in the moment. Its retro aesthetic is undeniably charming, and the eco-friendly case gives it a tactile, premium feel that makes it a joy to carry around. By removing the ability to chimp or over-analyze every shot immediately after taking it, this camera brings back a sense of mystery and excitement to photography that is hard to find in modern gear.
Despite its minimalist interface, the 20MP sensor captures surprisingly crisp images with a distinct character that feels more organic than a standard digital file. The built-in battery and USB-C charging make it incredibly convenient for daily use, while the simple point-and-shoot operation makes it accessible for anyone. It is a fantastic choice for those looking to disconnect from their screens while still documenting their life with a high-quality, intentional tool that prioritizes the experience of taking the photo as much as the final result.
